Shouldn't we have teleporting by now???
chris mens journal
My commute is slowly getting more annoying, made so by the fact that the route I take to work is suddenly jam packed with people who are using my route to replace other routes that are undergoing construction.

This comic from Toothpaste For Dinner pretty much sums up Ohio's relationship with road construction:

Seriously. It's exactly like that. And I don't know about other cities in Ohio, but here in Columbus we *never* have road construction projects that end in "will be reopened tomorrow." No, our construction projects go on for years and years at a time.

So needless to say, my commute won't be getting better anytime soon.

ETA:And based on that rendering, Project #5 would be the part of town I commute through, actually.

Lol yeah.. that's pretty crap.

In the UK, we don't really have roadworks.. our rail is the worst. They have engineering work all the way through weekend, which often adds two hours to your train journey. So.. you can't really go away anywhere for the weekend.

..Even worse is that most of the underground is shut for engineering too for the whole weekend, which means you can't even move around London at the weekend.. So basically, you're staying home.

...And then the press moans that we're a nation of couch-potatoes. X3
