SPN website thoughts/ideas?

I thought I'd post this, because I know most of ya'll are smart cookies, and would definitely have ideas/thoughts/opinions on something like this, and I'm wanting to hear them.

Earlier, sarah_charade posted that she thought Supernatural fandom needed a lexicon type website--just a comprehensive collection of all things Supernatural. I pointed out we have the Super-Wiki, which I think does a great job of that, so I wasn't sure a lexicon of the show or fandom was really needed.

But what I thought fandom *did* totally need was a dialogue database site. If you're not familiar with it, Buffy fandom has the ever so awesome Buffy Dialogue Database. It's a great site that I use all the time, and I've often wished Supernatural had a site like it.

Aside from being able to access major quote clips from the episodes without having to slog through an entire transcript, one thing I love about the BDD is the cross-referencing(haha, yes I *do* stuff my own shirts instead of sending them out, thanks very much.)

Anyway, the cross referencing makes it easier to find quotes related to what you want. For example, want to see all the times Dean's discussed food? Then just click on the "Dean& Food" arc, and voila! All the times Dean's shared his love of pie, or mini philly cheesesteak subs.

So anyway, what do ya'll think? Is this something fandom would want/use/contribute to? Or would we just be undertaking a massive waste of time? Or is there already a site out there like that for SPN that's meeting the need for it?

ETA: And if I'm not explaining it clearly, take a look at the Buffy database site. Even if you don't know anything about BTVS, take a look around and see what you think for the basic idea.

I think that'd be awesome! I am ALL FOR THE MORE RESOURCES, THE BETTER in this fandom. \o/

Hell. I'd do for a really good and updated transcript site, too!

There is this transcript site. I just found out about it, so I don't know how updated it is or how accurate--I'm hoping it's pretty well done because that would make setting up a dialogue database a lot easier, because we could just pull from the existing transcripts. The BDD has access to transcripts, but they're hosted at another site, so all the database really does is pull out the clips, organize them, etc, and link to the full transcript if people want that.

As a fan who was on the fence about the show until recently (so I'm playing a lot of catch-up) I'd find a lexi very helpful. There really isn't very much FYI type stuff out there to figure things out you might read about in a fic. I'm resorting to shotgunning episodes in the hope it explains things.

If you are looking for a comprehensive lexi site for past knowledge about the show definitely check out the Super Wiki. I can't link since I'm on my blackberry and don't have the link but if you search yahoo or google for supernatural wiki it will come up. That site tells ya anything and everything you need to know about the show.

ETA: I think the address is www.supernaturalwiki.com
